Country Manager, Kenya

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the highest management for all business activities
• Lead the development and effective implementation of strategies in line with globally agreed priorities, with a cross functional business team responsible for customer and financial targets
• Direct daily operations while ensuring compliance with all federal and local laws, policies and practices and ensure best practice
• Enhance the brand’s profile and presence in the country through research, campaign and innovative strategies
• Lead the leadership team to identify areas of improvement across teams and drive execution
• Ensure that the values, standards and priorities of the brand are instilled and adhered to
• Identify Business challenges, propose analytically grounded, well researched solutions and drive execution
• Implement an effective brand strategy and ensure consistency
• Establish operating budgets and create annual detailed business plans and ensuring that monthly, quarterly and annual targets are met in terms of revenue, profit and finance
• Oversee product strategy in close collaboration with product managers and cross functional team members
• Accountable for all marketing efforts in-country, to grow user acquisition and build a healthy book of loyal and financially healthy users
• Provide complete and timely business reports
• Ensure compliance with globally developed quality assurance and impact assessment methodologies
• Ensure that the teams report with sufficient clarity and detail on the impact of their work
• Maintain a good image of the organisation always
• Set, monitor, manage and report on budget and expenditure

Requirements

• At least 7 years of startup tech, marketing or business leadership experience in high performing businesses
• Strong data driven approach to funnel conversion metrics and campaign performance, with strong attention to detail
• Strong ability to work with a cross functional team to propose, persuade and collaborate with on strategic priorities
• Demonstrated experience and capability as a leader who can influence the direction of brand impact, including by identifying and accessing the most effective channel to pass the brand message across
• Experience in hiring and managing a cross functional team, bringing energetic, fun and creative approach to the workplace
• Great written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues clearly
• Excellent networking skills
• Deep understanding of the blockchain landscape and experience interacting with crypto

• Well-developed communication, presentation, spokesperson, and representational skills
• Deep network and contacts amongst internet and network providers and e-commerce companies

• Familiarity with the fin-tech landscape
• Experience working in an international tech start up
• Embeddedness in the local crypto communities
